Solar Panel Grants

The Renewable Heat Incentive (RHI) is a government grant announced in November 11, initially targeted at businesses to encourage them to generate heat in a more environmentally friendly way whilst reducing their overall energy costs. This grant is currently only available to businesses although there are plans to roll it out to domestic households who wish to avail of solar panel grants in Northern Ireland. The Renewable Energy Centre offers free information on grants available to people on income support or Housing Benefit allowance, while the Carbon Trust provides details of grants available to businesses in the form of interest free loans. There are several companies in Northern Ireland who have availed of this scheme.
